Intern Spotlight: Samantha Moss
Jul 13, 2022
Meet Samantha Moss! This summer she is the marketing intern located in Dorchester, NE.
Where are you from?
I grew up on a farm outside of Wood River, NE.
Where do you go to college?
I go to UNK and I’m double majoring in Recreation, Outdoor, and Event Management as well as Business Administration.
Why did you choose to be an intern with Farmers Cooperative?
I found out about the internship program by talking to Micaela at a career fair and the marketing internship caught my interest right away. The program seemed super well-rounded and like it was a great opportunity to learn and grow.
What are some of your daily tasks?
Everything really depends on the day or what is happening that week. I could be at my desk working on projects and creating social media material or I could be out and about visiting locations. Throughout the summer I’ve been going to see each of the other interns to interview and photograph them for their spotlights. I’ve also been helping with events such as the evening at the zoo, pancake feeds, and the intern celebration. It’s really been a good balance between being in the office and getting to go out and see all of the other communities we’re in.
What is one thing you’ve learned that you didn’t think you would have?
Before starting my internship, I had no idea how big of a presence a co-op could have in a community. Whether it’s parades, pancake feeds, or giving out t-shirts for the county fairs, Farmers Cooperative is super involved and the co-ops in my hometown are not that way.
What has been your favorite part of your internship so far?
My favorite part of my internship is the people. All of the marketing team and everyone at the Dorchester office have been so welcoming and helpful. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to be a part of or a better intern group to share the summer with.
Moving forward, what job/career path do you see yourself pursuing?
I’m still unsure about what I want to do exactly. I do see myself in either a marketing role or an event management role whether that be at a co-op or a completely different company or event venue.
What is one fun fact about yourself?
A fun fact about me is that I have a twin sister and we are extremely close.
